The Client
A young couple who had grown up locally and, after several years in London, were ready to return home. They were planning to start a family in the coming years, so while schooling wasn’t an immediate priority, it was very much in their thinking. With demanding jobs and limited time, they had been underwhelmed by what they had seen through the conventional route and wanted guidance and clarity.
The Challenge
As first‑time buyers, they were unsure about the process and wanted someone to steer them through it. They also hoped to benefit from our deep local connections, to see opportunities they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.
Our Approach
With nothing to sell, they were in a strong position. We tapped into our network to uncover homes not visible on the open market, revisited properties that had been sitting unsold due to timing rather than quality, and introduced them to villages they hadn’t previously considered. We also arranged access to several homes before they officially launched.
The Outcome
They fell in love with a beautiful cottage in one of the most sought‑after villages in our patch, known for its village green, stunning countryside, and excellent amenities including pubs, a café, a pharmacy, a village shop, a bus route, a primary school and easy access to the train station. It was the perfect first home for the life they were beginning to build.
We’ve always heard that buying a house is really stressful, especially as first-time buyers like us. Maranda did all the hard work for us, seeking out properties and viewing the best ones whilst we were at work. Getting Maranda’s property shortlist was always the highlight of our week! She highlighted all the possibilities to add value and all the wider things to consider like the best local schools, what the community was like and transport links to London. Her local connections meant we were able to view houses before they hit the market and if all of that wasn’t enough, she managed to secure the house for us when we were up against three competing buyers. “
