A couple returning to the UK after two decades in Hong Kong. They wanted to be close to their grown children in London while also settling in an area where old friends lived nearby. They were open to renting or buying, whichever offered the best first step back.
The Challenge
Finding a home that balanced proximity to London, a sense of community, and a setting that felt instantly grounding after so many years abroad.
Our Approach
We spent a week viewing properties with the client to understand exactly what she wanted. When she returned to Hong Kong, we provided detailed video tours to give her a true sense of each property we visited. Using our local network and strong relationships with agents, we introduced her to several exceptional homes.
The Outcome
We secured a beautiful private rental on a country estate, a home that immediately felt right and even featured a garden they later used for their daughter’s wedding three years on.
Because they were arriving with a lifetime of belongings, we arranged for a specialist moving team to unpack the entire house before they arrived. They stepped off the plane and straight into a fully set-up home, beds made, kitchen organised, everything ready. It allowed them to begin their new chapter with ease and joy.
This was a huge move for us and we wanted to make sure that we could jump straight into our new lives, reconnecting with friends and spending time with our grown-up children in London. From abroad, the fear of moving to the wrong place and missing out on the best options, as well as getting enough information to make decisions, meant we wanted to work with a buying agent we could implicitly trust. We ended up being presented with the most beautiful off-market house that their connections and tenacity secured for us. Their ongoing support was a huge weight off our shoulders and ensured a soft landing when we did finally move home.”
